A classy treatment with a feel-good factor.
Fashion boutique Cummins & Stone came to us seeking to refresh their image with a new bag.
They brought a vintage sketch from the store’s first ever bag which offered some potential for design.
The bag had to be sturdy enough to carry one or more items of clothing so we suggested dimensions of 410x120x310cm in 210g art paper.
Clients, Breda and Tommy Cummins, opted for a matt laminate finish with a navy rope handle – a rather classy treatment which would give customers a feel-good factor
The shopfront is a shade of dark blue so we chose a Pantone Navy as the closest match, with Cool Grey 4 as a contrast on the sides.
Browsing through our samples, Breda saw a bag with attached ribbon which she thought would also add a dash of panache to her bags.
We suggested a silver grey ribbon which would match the cool grey of the bag
Our graphic designer Sean came up with 3 possibilities
• a simple name in Adobe Garamond type
• a circular design using a small recreation of the original sketch
• a square design with a larger sketch option
They loved the large use of the sketch in the square shape and placed the order.

Just received the bags today, they are fantastic! The colours are perfect - just what I was looking for. I love the idea you came up to make the bag look like something a kid messing about with crayons would do. Nobody else has a bag like this.
