Barry Packaging goes Arty with Britains Art Galleries

Barry Packaging is delighted to be working with Manchester Art Gallery and London’s National Gallery to produce a unique Carrier Bag for the Galleries latest exhibitions.

Manchester Art Gallery approached us after seeing the Venice: Canaletto and his rivals Carrier Bag produced for the Canaletto Exhibition which ran at London’s National Gallery during 2010 and 2011. The Gallery wanted a similar carrier bag to promote the upcoming Ford Maddox Brown Exhibition. The Gallery provided Barry Packaging with an array of Ford Maddox Brown Images and we designed a number of Artworks for the Gallery to choose from. The Irish Girl won the hearts of the Gallery Committee and became the face of the Maddox Exhibition. The Carrier Bag was born and will be a fantastic addition to the promotion and advertising of the exhibition.
The Exhibition opens at Manchester Art Gallery on September 24th and runs until January 29t 2012.

The upcoming exhibition to be held at London’s National Gallery is the world famous Leonardo da Vinci: Painter at the Court of Milan’. Similar to the Gallery’s Canaletto Carrier Bag they wanted something unusual and dedicated to the new exhibition. The Lady with an Ermine had been decided on by the Gallery and Barry Packaging had to ensure that in production the print did not lose any colouring or shades due to the darkness and delicate lines of the artwork.
The exhibitions opens at the London National Gallery on November 9th and runs until February 5th 2012.
